Over time radioactive contaminated materials and objects from a nuclear environment will be cleared up and removed. To ensure the protection of humans and the environment the processing of this nuclear waste is done under strict safety requirements. This means that radioactive materials and objects are cut as small as possible so they can be stored in the proper packaging. Holmatro’s industrial cutting tools are a perfect solution to reduce the size of radioactive waste material (stainless steel, ferrous/non-ferrous metals, steel cables, rod material, pipes, profiles, cables, wood, etc.). in a safe and effective manner and to sort the waste for further processing.

Cutting cables (ground, telephone, electro and steel) is a skill on its own. Generally, this type of cable consists of countless small wires and strands which, during cutting actions, often inadvertently get in between the cutter blades. Situations like this cause loss of capacity. Moreover, it has proven to be detrimental to the life span of cutting tools. Therefore, Holmatro has developed cutter blades with a special blade guide. This feature keeps the blades straight in relation to each other and prevents them from separating or becoming distorted.

The grounds of the bicycle depot in Amsterdam probably are the biggest bicycle shed in Holland. All bicycles here were removed, or confiscated by the police. Yearly the average proceeds are about 54.000 bicycles. Some are being collected by the rightful owner, others will be used for national and international job-creating projects. The rest, the real wrecks, are being prepared for the scrap yard.

During the construction of the world’s biggest lifting ship ‘Pioneering Spirit’ the need arose to provide extra support for the lifting system, in order to be able to safely dismantle, install and transport large drilling platforms. Commissioned by Allseas, Holmatro supplied 280 ton cylinders.

Disconnecting couplings from pumps at locations that offer extremely limited freedom of movement. Commissioned by BP Refinery Rotterdam, Holmatro supplied a ergonomic pulley puller.

Transportation of 4 monopiles per time and reduce handling by skidding these MP’s in position for upending. Commissioned by GeoSea, Holmatro supplied smart seafastening, skidding and upending solutions for the installation vessel 'Innovation'.

Levelling wind turbines in which the turbine foundations come in two parts: a monopile (MP) and a transition piece (TP). Commissioned by Smulders Group, Holmatro supplied a TP levelling system for the Dudgeon offshore wind farm.

Precision vertical placement of a TP on a MP for the positioning of a offshore substation (OSS). Commissioned by STX France, Holmatro supplied a TP fixation system for the Rentel wind farm, and conducted a Site Acceptance Test.
