Rescue Experience Ontario

Holmatro and the Oakville Training Campus for Emergency Excellence hosted a Rescue Experience on October 12 and October 13, 2016.

Program

The one-day extrication experience included:

  • Informational seminar
  • Hands-On-Training
  • Wrap up and Q&A

Upon completion, students received a Certificate of Attendance from Holmatro and a copy of Holmatro's Vehicle Extrication Techniques book.

Scenarios

RIT
Learning Goal: Search for and locate patient in low visibility environment. Free patient by lifting/stabilizing and using hand operated combi tool with awareness to CIS

Car vs. Semi Side Under run
Learning Goal: Capture suspension; lift with hydraulic power shore, move vehicle out from underneath, remove doors and dash lift to remove patient

Overturned Car/Cross - Ramming
Learning Goal: Stabilization, access for cutting, cross ramming and safe patient removal

Progressive Lifting/Crush Injury Syndrome
Learning Goal: Understand CIS and use progressive lifting to free patient
