At the Holmatro Rescue Challenge in Germany, teams from all over the world will show their skills in realistic vehicle extrication scenarios. Using Holmatro tools they will compete to free a ‘live patient’ from the latest BMWs. Make sure to follow #holmatrorescuechallenge to stay informed!

This is the second international Holmatro Rescue Challenge and it will again be hosted by Interschutz. The 6-day event will take place from 15-20 June 2020, on a large area right in the middle of the exhibition grounds. Check out the map where to find us (and don’t forget to stop by our indoor booth as well, Hall 26 - H30).

Participating teams

A total of 29 teams from 23 countries will compete in the Holmatro Rescue Challenge. Take a look at the lineup and keep an eye on this website: all teams will be presented with an introduction video in the coming months.

Each day of the Rescue Challenge five teams will compete, except on Saturday. After the last team has participated the award ceremony will take place at 16.00 hrs. Check out the time schedule to find out when your favorite team is up.

The teams will be challenged to respond to a unique 20-minute vehicle extrication scenario. The exact scenario for each team, designed and supervised by the event organization, will remain confidential up to the very start. A group of experienced assesssors will be present to judge and score each challenge to determine the overall event winners.

The aim of the Holmatro Rescue Challenge is to facilitate a safe learning environment for firefighters and rescue workers. Before getting hands on with their scenarios each team will receive a Holmatro Equipment Familiarization Training as well as a Masterclass Extrication Techniques. These training classes will take place on the Holmatro outdoor booth so feel free to watch and learn.

We are grateful to BMW for offering rescuers from all over the world the chance to get hands on experience with the latest Holmatro tools on modern BMWs. Each day a row of BMWs will be lined up for the scenarios on the right side of the challenge terrain, you can’t miss them!

Besides the honor of winning the challenge, the three best teams will be rewarded with fantastic prizes: Holmatro rescue tool sets with a total value of € 50,000! The prizes will be presented to the winners in the following categories:

  • Best Overall Team
  • Best Technical Team
  • Best Team Spirit

Don’t forget to watch the award ceremony that will take place on Saturday afternoon.
