Rescue Experience Fulda, Germany

Germany - Rettmobil Fulda 2013 - Greenline inflatable.jpgMore than 24,000 visitors saw it with their own eyes: the Holmatro zeppelin, the enormous inflated pump and cutters, the flags, the gigantic Rescue Experience arch... Holmatro could not be missed at Rettmobil from 15-17 May in Fulda!

The Rescue Experience site, located next to the Rettmobil expo, was only accessible to a select group. In order to guarantee an optimal learning experience there was a maximum of 15 participants per team. Each day 4 teams were challenged to show their skills in these scenarios:

  1. Car under heavy goods vehicle
  2. Collapsed building with person trapped
  3. Bus on top of car
  4. Rescue from car on its side with compromised access

The teams were supported on the rescue site by professional instructors from German fire and rescue services. Holmatro staff monitored on-scene safety. Our Rescue Consultant Ian Dunbar, responsible for the overall organization, explains the four scenarios in this video.

t was the first time that Holmatro organised a Rescue Experience on such a large scale. The event was a great success and we received many positive reactions, both from participants and in the media. The participants especially liked the team work and the interaction with experienced firefighters, as well as the opportunity for everyone to work with a wide variety of Holmatro tools.
