Low closed height, long stroke length
Whilst a regular cylinder (also known as a jack, bottle jack, press, bottle or pump) has a housing and a plunger (rod), the plunger of a telescopic cylinder is the housing itself. This makes it possible to include even more stages. The advantage of the telescopic cylinder is that the closed height stays low despite the longer stroke length.
