Holmatro battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools
5/23/2002
In April Holmatro introduced its new, state-of-the-art line of battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools. These rescue tools make use of the latest technology and offer not only optimal usability, but also a greater degree of mobility and flexibility than any other powered rescue tool so far.

Holmatro® battery-powered rescue tools allow a rescuer to go virtually anywhere, whether it be a manhole, confined spaces, on top of a ladder, or deep down a ravine. These tools can also easily be carried in combination with breathing apparatus.
Optimal usability is achieved by employing modern 24-V battery technology of DEWALT®. These batteries also find application in many other high-performance professional (rescue) tools. In case a battery’s charge turns out to be too low, the battery can be replaced in a matter of a second by way of a click-on/click-off system. Spare batteries can be kept on stand-by in a vehicle battery charger, on a rescuer’s belt, on the optional carrying frame, etc. Using a special power cable, it is also possible to make use of locally available battery capacity (12-24 V!), like batteries of passenger vehicles, rescue vehicles or trucks. The batteries used on Holmatro® battery tools can be recharged to 100% capacity in only one hour!
Holmatro® battery-powered hydraulic rescue tools are not only compact and perfectly balanced, they are also extremely lightweight. The battery-powered cutter for example weights only 14.4 kg. That is including battery. Combined with the fact that these Holmatro® tools are entirely cordless, rescuers now have powerful tools at their disposal that provide maximum freedom of movement and ultimate mobility.
Rescuers can choose between a Holmatro® battery-powered hydraulic combitool, model BCT 3120+ weighing 14.8kg, or a battery-powered cutter, model BCU 3010 GP weighing 14.4 kg. A wide range of accessories like charges, spare batteries, carrying straps/bags/frames/harnesses, power cables and pulling chains is available.
