Full Carbon rigging hydraulics
Holmatro is proud to introduce full carbon hydraulic cylinders without metal lining.
This technique is the next big step in lightweight hydraulics, and offers sailors a professional and tested product to further optimise the weight of their rig.
Weight saving
Depending on the size cylinders can be 60 per cent lighter than their equivalent in stainless steel. Especially on bigger yachts the weight savings are tremendous. This will not only benefit the total weight of the rig, but also the product is a lot easier to install
Improved Design
Until now, carbon hydraulic cylinders have been constructed with a metal lining, and a carbon fibre wound around this thin-walled tube. Since both materials have different stretch and yield strength, the combination is a compromise.
Holmatro now has developed full carbon hydraulics. The carbon cylinder wall is constructed out of 100% carbon, and features no additional metal lining or reinforcement.
