Situation

Hittech Gieterij Nunspeet has been producing aluminium sand castings for over 70 years. Through the course of time, the company has specialized in the production of complex sand castings of high quality standards.

Challenge

Hittech wants to speed up their production process by cutting foundry systems. This way they can optimize the flow and the ergonomics in their processes and reduce maintenance costs. The hydraulic cutter needs to be flexible and easy to use so that operations of the cutter is fully ergonomically. The foundry framework will be cut in smaller pieces so the operator of the saw is taking care of smaller and lighter pieces for the final sawing of the risers.

Solution

To cut the most safe and ergonomic way and to optimize their production process Hittech has chosen a Holmatro Stationary ICU 20 cutter with a new durable pump unit IPU-S 32 S 25 E. The Holmatro ICU 20 cutter is a stationary hydraulic cutter that is a perfect solution for removing the aluminium risers from the castings.
